Take a short 30 minute drive north of Sacramento and you’ll find a small, quaint little town with a population of only 6,617. Loomis offers a close-knit community within a country setting where wild deer and other friendly animals are seen frequently walking among neighborhood properties. It’s rural character and charm are showcased by large residential lots with custom homes and an old-fashioned downtown scene. With small shops, restaurants and outdoor activities, Loomis prides itself on being a great place to raise a family.
Despite its size, Loomis has a variety of fun things to do for everyone! There are several hiking trails for the outdoorsman to explore, equestrian centers for horse lovers and all kinds of unique stores and restaurants to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a well-tended nursery or a luscious vegetable garden, a cozy cafe or a bed and breakfast or even the perfect setting for your dream wedding, The Flower Farm has it all! In the center of town, is High Hand Nursery, a very high-end nursery where you’ll discover their marvelous selection of the highest quality trees and shrubs available. They are also famous for their Historic High Hand Fruit Stand where you can start your morning by sampling and tasting locally crafted wines, olive oils & vinegar’s and then head over to the Cafe for a delicious lunch made with all locally grown ingredients!
Although Loomis is a small town, it’s like a big family. In 1984, it was nearly annexed by its neighbor, Rocklin. Citizens came together and took a stand to preserve the “small town” character and historic structures. On December 17, 1984, the Town of Loomis officially incorportaed to protect what it is so proud of. Its quiet country neighborhoods, upscale living, and a close-knit, family friendly community will forever be protected.
